Meet Nicole

Nicole Kanayurak is Inupiaq from Utqiaġvik, Alaska. She is Deputy Director of Wildlife Management at the North Slope Borough. Nicole graduated from Dartmouth with her Bachelor’s. She earned her Master’s in Marine Affairs from the University of Washington. Nicole is drawn to the Caleb Scholar’s  program because it is a special program that builds up Indigenous Scholars and is a program that connects scholars to their communities and Alaska Native values that strives to keep them grounded through their education.
